One benefit of overcrowded freeways, ( maximum use) is auto’s have to get more and more expensive, to keep the number of auto’s the same on the freeways! ( there will never be an auto bubble, they GS, should make that into a derivative! I’d go long that!)
As they get more and more expensive, the quality gets higher and higher–( reminds me of Moore’s law or healthcare curve )

Did you know, that I can get to downtown LA, just as fast on the X-press bus, than I can in my car?
It’s true! I usually land within 3 or 4 blocks of my destination.
It’s just pure luck, I found this out!
And most of the rider’s look like my old bosses!

The news on POT wasn’t so great today—lowered 2009 guidance 25% or maybe it was 35%
Will this news cause the entire MOO sector to just collapse, or is it just another buying opportunity in a long string of buying ops, in this current market?

  • I'm looking at my watch list, and not very many longs worked today!
    I was waiting for 77 on MON, then saw 76.04, and got stupefied! I'd be cautious MON, now that 77 support is broken, $70 is a long way down.

  • RIMM, must have some underlying problem, ( competition?), Market won't give it a +90 price this time, Huge red candle, those are hard to get higher than, Hod, short term.

    Z or TenYear-What do you guys make of the action in MYGN? Gapped up on earnings Aug 25 and since has made a slow bleed down to it's 50 ma. Gap fill is somewhere around 26.

    MYGN: right down Z's alley, it is a falling knife. Wait for the first up day, buy on the next day's dip. $26 would be a good entry. Not sure of the stop however, so it is not for me. I have to know the stop before buying. Wait, the stop is down at $24.27...might be too wide for me.

    TenYear astutely mentioned that FDO has never stopped at it's middle B.Band on the monthly. Maybe this will be the first time it holds and bounces upward. Middle monthly BB value is 26.14.
  • FDO, one way to change the FDO trade is use 27 as the exit--and use $1.50 as average under the bb 13 band--mid bb band is 27.2 - $1.50 gives a 25.5 entry--
    Maybe we should just get the heck out of this---Cut losses and run!

    I have been awfully busy at work and had little time to post. I miss the slow times at work so I can watch you work your trading magic here. Oh ... well... such is life. Say, I am still looking for that “long term” trade for my IRA. (I have $28,000 in cash that’s been sitting for about a month). This IRA amount does not include the limit buy order I have for LMT (Lockheed) and MOS that you recommended about 2 to 3 weeks ago. These stocks have not hit your entry price yet.

    My point here, are there other “long term” (maybe 1 to 3 months) stocks that you recommend for the IRA? (Christmas is approaching and don’t stocks usually go up toward the end of year?

    OR, maybe you and Taz can team-up and come up with some Upcoimg Holiday trades.

  • Nergo, If you can stay in CASH until OCT earnings--When the DIA is at 84--it's not a mis-print--84--you can buy anything you want! for the xmas rally--look for $28K IRA to go to $56K, TIMING is my middle name!

    Thanks Zee. I'll hold off buying till October. By the way, I have October 11th marked on my calender based on a video clip I saw on Market Watch (I think it was M.W.). They think the market will turn south about then based on a strong resistance (SPX) trend line that started in Oct 2009 and other chart items. I need to review that video. I'll remember it as a P.S. only ... watch and see.

    anyone planning to short AIG at $56? Shorted at 53.35 (2k), FSLR cover stopped.
  • someone out there on the internet, probably has an $84 target price AIG--that's 14X next years eps--USE 3% STOPS, $56 short might work, --57.68 stop, if stopped out, try again at +8% or 60.45
  • XOM is so stupid, it can't even get above its 200 day =71 anymore--
    I hope it goes down to $57, next market downturn--
    Maybe INDIA will invent sunlight to hydrogen solar cells, ( they invented " zero" ) and ergo, take over as the economic power house--The US ( XOM) sure isn't doing anything!
    If anything XOM is a major deterrent to US energy . Their ads on independent TV, make me puke!

    Well I haven't had too many ideas to share of late, but I did have the following thoughts when thinking about this market. As best I can tell, the Feds balance sheet or increase in same is what has been the major influence in the market.
