The stock market gives away free money—learn how!
I expect earnings to come in robust again this week, just like they did last week.
The market should react positively and send the DOW to 10,200 or 10,400.
HAL, bt st 20%
INTC beat str 18%
GOOG,IBM,GS all beat–
many many more–
Next week is many many more times ten!

I’ve did formula’s on NE earnings–it’s a short now
ISRG earnings, will move big enough, to make a strangle work.

ENER showing an interesting pattern on the 60...looks like UNG when UNG tried to establish a bottom in June. Double bottom traders are propping it up. take a look.
  • XOM 100 day weekly is 76--That seems like a logical target for a short sell try--I noticed Goldman / Saks 5ht Ave. used the weekly 100 day a lot OCT-NOV 08 on XOM
  • NDAQ gap up tomorrow--could happen. ICE and CME improved, NDAQ seems to be lagging.
  • TenYear
Looking for about 300 more up in the DOW-- I'd like to enter shorts there.

  • LEAP is a falling knife--it it's down on Monday, why would you TRY to catch this falling knife?--It's the falling knife rule---WAIT for the first up day, then go long--BB lower band is 12.5 or so.

    Thanks!
  • Hi Amy--I thought you were long the QQQQ--not short---I don't trade 2X indexes--so I don't know their symbols--I thought you were long Q's--sorry I gave you the wrong information--I didn't know QID was short the Q's--I would have told you get out ALL
  • GDX chart in the member's area--$$$ http://retracementlevels.zstock7.com/?page_id=12
  • LEAP and NDAQ, I didn't like the way both closed on Friday--I'm using 1% stop losses
  • NBR short at 22.5 or 23.2--see explanation on earnings play here http://zstock7.com/?p=1790&dsq=20306347#comment-20306347
  • NBR reports Tuesday--that either goes down 6% on earnings or goes up 2%, ( because everything is massively beating earnings) If it goes up up, short it right away.--So in essence--what to do? Short NBR at 22.5 into earnings and get the 6% drop. or short after earnings if it's up 2%--so I have to short it at two prices--___if, it goes up on earnings--do you get it?
  • Hi Nergo,
Winace has a chart of BEN
    http://www.channellines.com/2009/10/prophetcharts-ben_16.html
It's right there at one of his lines--I looked at BEN eps history and 111 looks like it could be the short sell price--or
    150 - 15% = 127--2010 target price--so 111 is right in the sweet spot!
  • nergo
    Thanks
  • stop loss LEAP--14.25, I was stopped out 14.60, LEAP turned into a daytrade for me. I,m getting back in Monday.
  • nergo
Thanks Zee. I'll probably buy LEAP too. At least a 30% position because I
keep thinking of a further market decline because of earnings report this
week. If poor LEAP may drop more. I heard one guest on FastMoney from a
brokerage firm say he suspects poor earnings this week.

The indices are already toppy and any inkling of bad earning news could be a
    big sell off.
  • fast money is WRONG!, imo ---SP500 is gynornous beating earnings this week15% to 20%, all that up percentage has to get added to the Dow--so at least 1/4 of it = 4%
  • nergo
Well ... after yesterday's red day ... that guy on FastMoney might be
    correct. We will see.
  • Do you remember me posting a qqqq chart 3 month's ago--short QQQQ at 43.6 = 61% fib?
I'm trying to locate that chart again--- http://zstock7.com/?p=1506
  • nergo
Yes I do, Zee. About several months ago you did post something about
shorting QQQQs in October. I believe you related the QQQQ notice to after
October 12th and earnings season when the QQQQs would 'peak' and then time
to short. At the time I thought you thought earnings would be disaster and
we would already be shorting when the poor earnings came out. But, as you
know, most earnings were not that bad. I guess your saying now its time to
short real soon. The Chart?? I did not save that one.
