everybody has been asking me about CSCO.
here’s what i came up with.
UPDATE CSCO it closed 10-28 around 18.50…oops, not quite a stop out, but close.

they’ll miss earnings,
they have to unwind 5 years of buying stupid businesses.
u seen a CSCO mouse at BBY, lately.
it costs money to take those off the shelf and bury them.

    futures —qqq around 58.2, time to go short again, if this holds until market open.

    each time qqq gets to around 58.5, the spx gets to a higher high. 
    qqq seems to be stuck at the 58.5 high, but the spx moves a little higher each retest of 58.5. 
    the mystery deepens.

    also, of note, there are many many XLE companies, that were downgraded at least 10% for 2012.
    mostly due to China and EU recession.
    this is a great weight on the spx, so even if all the companies report 2% higher, the XLE’s knock off 10%
    ( has to be averaged weighted in, i’d say the xle’s carry 25% weight in the spx 500) from the AUG high.
    so at best the spx guestimate could get to within 5% of the JULY HIGH. equals approx 1280, probably in Nov.

    if the market decides to carry the earnings momentum all thru Nov.
    then Nov high is 1280.
    if no carry thru, then look for qqq 50 again.

    u need to buy in the money strikes—on QQQ—61 IS GOOD—
    OUT OF THE MONEY, lose delta, and then on the way back down, the option price doesn’t move….so 0.65, if tht moves to 0.45, you won’t gt the 0.65 back

    is 1.4 trillion enough to turn EU around. if they ask this question tomorrow or tonite. the market should pullback a little on fri.

    i have one problem. the congress ( super committee) starts making super cuts in Nov.

    europe pours in 1.4 tril. the US takes out 1 or 2 trillion.

    isn’t that zero sum for the indexes.
