Looking ahead to after-hours earnings reports the focus will be on American Express (AXP 58.50, -0.18), IBM (IBM 186.60, +2.95), and YUM! Brands (YUM 64.73, +0.32)
gdx might test 38-39, but no lower…i’m watching that, to determine a second leg up on the indexes, i suppose it’s possible for next week, as a time frame.

Hi Rex. Crazy market right? Of course it always has been. The weakness in the metals is astounding. When will the big money pull out of bonds and put it in the metals? Maybe around election.

might happen in 2013, when the tax hikes get finalized. that might put pressure on getting more qe3…and better commodity prices…
not sure how the tax hikes will affect the market, though. I need to read about it, somewhere.

its largest ever percentage loss for one session after a disappointing
the Street on the top line and warning about costs in the back half of
the year. Other momentum restaurant stocks Panera Bread (PNRA 143.60 -7.09) and Starbucks (SBUX 51.90 -2.30) are also lower.
